Sorrel is a beverage brewed from the calyces of the roselle plant (Hibiscus sabdariffa) a species of hibiscus native to the tropics of the Eastern Hemisphere. This delicious drink is known all over the world by various names. Roselle (or sorrel)-based infusions have largely been a well-kept secret in Western culture however, they are enjoyed on every continent around the world known by different names:
